Follow You Tour Entry #1
In February we sat down for lunch with Brandon Heath and started dreaming about touring together one day. We said, what if we put together a tour that's less about the artist, and more about the God we worship. We wanted to break down the whole hierarchy of "opening bands" and "headliners". And most of all we wanted the world to be impacted by these nights of worship. We wanted to inspire action that's birthed from an experience with God.
A couple months later we found ourselves in Japan, Cambodia, and Bangladesh (Brandon joing us for the first two) and God truly spoke to us while we were abroad. For me it was an unexpected lesson. I learned that poverty is complex, but the God we serve is truly omniscient and all-powerful. He knows the solution even when we don't. He is more than capable of healing broken lives, cities, & nations. Here's the amazing thing though... He's wanting US to play a vital role in this process.
I'm God's child, but so is the poor kid in Cambodia, as well as their mom & dad, and so is the investment banker in Manhattan. God's love is for EVERYONE, and as followers of Christ we CAN show this love in very tangible ways. Just try it.
This tour is about following God into the hard places, whether it be Cambodia or Cleveland... London or Little Rock. People are hurting, and they need the healer. His name is Jesus.
We're four shows into this tour and God has already done great things. We're expecting more, and we would like to ask two things of you:
1) Would you pray for us? That we would keep our hearts aflame for God. That we would speak with boldness on behalf of the forgotten. For safety as we bus across America, and for our families while we're away.
2) Would you commit to falling more and more in love with Jesus? If we're not doing this first, everything else is for naught. Let simple intimacy with God overflow into your actions so that justice, love & righteousness can be known in the world.
Please come to a show and partner with our ministry and we'll see God's kingdom come!
Much love.

I thanked you for sharing your hearts after the concert at northwestern but want to thank you again for continuing to share them even when youre not on stage. You guys are overflowing with a love for our God and it is blessing those around you. Your lives are inspiring and challenging. May our God bless you as richly as He has blessed others (like myself) through you.
Thanks for being His hands and feet and asking us to also go where He is going.

I will definantly be praying for you guys! I love looking on your website and reading your posts. They're such an encouragement to me!! I can't wait to see you guys in Ocala!
You see, your song "Opposite Way" has been such a powerful tool of ministry to my youth group! It's a song that has encouraged and inspired us to truly run the opposite way, away from the world and into the arms of God. Your song had a special impact on a young man from my youth group and it was life changing. He was stuck in sin and had walked away from the Lord for several months. This was devestating to us because he had been an integral part of our group and had a deep love for the Lord. We were praying and praying and praying (especially our leaders who also took time to fast for him as well). One day he came to prayer service and we noticed that something was different about him. We immediately ran up to him after service and asked him what happened. He told us that the song "opposite way" ministered to his heart and caused him to come running back to God because he realized that he DID want to break free from that sin and run the opposite way. The song pretty much described his life down to the t. God used that song to revolutionize his life. When I tell you that he is on FIRE for the Lord I'm not exaggerating! He is a different person in school, in church, all the way around. God is so amazing! I just wanted to thank you for being sensitive to the Holy Spirit and writing such a life changing song. Keep doing what you're doing for Christ!
Thanks.
See you all soon.

I hear your music everyday when I'm on the way to school and it always reminds me that I am a child of God, that I am a new creation and have to shine bright so that others could see how great God is.
I would love to see you guys live. It is so boring here. Even the weather is cold and rainy...

2. Corinthians 5,15
I have been praying for Jesus to hold me close, and let that love touch other lives. I will keep you all in my prayers. The Follow You song and tour are both remarkable. God bless you and you families, and keep you safe.
Matt took a video of the final song, that I'd like you to see- but I don't twitter.
How can I get it to you?
