					<title><![CDATA["My Jesus" Devotional]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><em>"And I'm lost in Your love and Your mercy. Lord Your beauty is so overwhelming. I'm thankful for Your truth. I'm so in love with You, my Jesus."</em></p>
<p>Recently, I had one of those spiritual epiphanies and everything became clear in one moment. I was praying and suddenly my eyes were opened to something. I realized that I had complicated things. I'd turned my relationship with God into process...a formula. I knew God loved me, but for some reason I couldn't get free from the bondage of "productivity". I don't think I'm the only one who has struggled with this.</p>
<p>Don't get me wrong - we're supposed to be responsible and get things done in life, but that's not what I'm talking about. We've brought this "productivity" thing into our relationship with God and we've completely missed the point of the Gospel.</p>
<p>We were created for one simple purpose, and that's to be intimate with God. To know Him and walk alongside Him with love is the highest calling, the ONLY calling. Everything else flows from this. Do you want to win this world to Jesus? Do you want to see your family situation turn around? How about those bills that are stacking up? The solution to the world's problems and the answer to our needs will only come if you're intimate with God. Show me someone that's giving everything in pursuit of the face of God, and I'll show you a world-changer. Show me someone that's consumed with just "getting things done" for God, and I'll show you a frustrated &amp; unfulfilled person.</p>
<p>This song is an invitation to make things simple again and, to make your greatest goal in life to simply fall more in love with Jesus. Really get lost in Him. Here's a project for you. Take some time today (and every day for the rest of your life) to just sit and let God love you. Then let that love fill every moment of your day, even the ordinary places. It will change your life. If we get this, we'll be in the perfect position to change the world around us!</p>]]></description>

					<title><![CDATA["Holy Spirit Have Your Way" Devotional]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><em>"I lay down my life, and pick up my cross. What a joy it is to give my life away to you. All that I need, all that I seek, is you here with me. Holy Spirit have your way in me."</em></p>
<p>This is one of the most transformational prayers you'll ever pray.&nbsp; Simply giving your life away to God. What does that mean practically?</p>
<p>First, we have to realize that God cares about our dreams and aspirations, because He's the one who gave them to us. The most content people in the world are those who've given everything they have to God with no questions asked. Total surrender. These people end up seeing their dreams come true because they've stopped trying to please people, and they live to please God. Can you imagine living that way? Well, you can!</p>
<p>Secondly, think about the fact that Jesus gave His life on the cross and then rose again three days later. Why? So we could go to heaven? Yes, but that's not all. He rose again, so we could be sure that we don't serve a dead God. He's living inside of you if you've made Him your Lord. That means that He's given you the ability to surrender just like he did! (Lk 22:42) We can do the things Jesus did, and more. (Jn 14:12-13)</p>
<p>What are your dreams? What are your ambitions? I can assure you, the second you just sacrifice them and give them back to God you'll see them come true in due time. Stop striving, and surrender just like Jesus did. His plan is the best and His timing is impeccable. (Pr. 19:21)</p>

					<title><![CDATA["Via Dolorosa" Devotional]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><em>"On the Via Dolorosa, all my sins were carried away. And the power of hell was broken, as He gave his life away."</em></p>
<p>I try my best to imagine the day that Jesus died on the cross. So many things happened. Political systems were shaken, devote followers of Christ were disheartened, a mother lost a son, and God the Father experienced sorrow beyond comprehension. But right in the middle of confusion and fear, Jesus saved the world.</p>
<p>But, what was Jesus thinking, especially when He was walking down that road on His way to save the world? This was our inspiration for the song Via Dolorosa, which is the Latin name for the road He walked. It translates: "way of grief" or "way of suffering".&nbsp;</p>
<p>We know one thing - Jesus did suffer. He went through more pain that day than one human could bear, and the weight of the sins of the world bore down on His heart.</p>
<p>As believers I think it's good for us to sit every once in a while, and ponder the work of the cross. I mean, REALLY think about what happened. A king from a distant and powerful kingdom came as a humble and awe inspiring man. This man lived his life and poured out more love than any one man could possibly give. All of this built up to that moment when the sins of the world rested on His shoulders.</p>
<p>What <em>was</em> Jesus thinking when he walked the Via Dolorosa? I know that He saw our faces and felt the hope of our future, and the glory of his redeemed people. He saw through the ages and knew that this one act would tip the scales of power. He had won the war. He knew it. That's why He was able to endure the pain and heartache.</p>
<p>Can you say the same for yourself? Life can beat us up, but can you look through the crowds of hateful people, casting off the weight of this world, and give your life away like Jesus did? This is the Gospel. His grace empowers us to give everything we have for His kingdom!</p>]]></description>

					<title><![CDATA["Love Is On The Move" Devotional]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><em>"Love is on the move revealing heaven's truth. Love is on its way and it will find you."<br /> </em><br /> We were having a writing session earlier this year in preparation for this new record. Leeland and I took a lunch break and on our way back to the studio we stopped at a red light. It was the lunch rush, so there were tons of cars. We looked to our left and saw a homeless man asking for money. We started to look around the van for a little bit of cash to give him, and before we knew it the light had turned green. Cars were honking at us to go, so we just sped off. We knew the&nbsp;Holy&nbsp;Spirit wanted us to help that man. We were tempted to just keep driving, but we turned all the way around and Leeland ran back to give him some money and simply show him love.<br /> <br /> After that, we headed back to the writing session and&nbsp;had all but forgotten about the whole thing. We were writing on a faster song when all of the sudden Leeland started to play this soft and beautiful melody on the piano. Everything stopped and God got our attention.<br /> <br /> We wrote "Love is on the Move" in just a few minutes, and it was like the heart of God was overflowing with joy because we had just taken care of his lost son on the side of the road.<br /> <br /> There are so many forgotten people in the world...the overlooked. They may be across the street or in Africa. Some have no money and some have a lot of money. It doesn't matter. Anyone can feel unloved.<br /> <br /> God is so passionate and so aggressive in his pursuit of loving his children, that NO ONE can escape it! Here's the catch though - we're His representatives. The world is missing the love of God if we're not SHOWING it!<br /> <br /> Love isn't really love unless it moving and living in the hearts of a people willing to pour it out. Will you make that commitment? Ask God to open doors and give you opportunities to give His love away. It will change your life.</p>]]></description>

					<title><![CDATA["Follow You" Devotional]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Over the next several weeks, I will be posting short devotionals based on songs from <em>Love Is On The Move</em>. This first one is based on "Follow You," which is also the name of the tour we're on right now. Please leave a comment if you'd like to respond! -Jack</p>
<p><strong>FOLLOW YOU</strong>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em>"God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them." -Bono</em></p>
<p>We all know that God is omnipresent. It's a very real fact. He's everywhere. He has the ability to reach into situations unknown to us. Right now, there are billions of problems throughout the globe; a child soldier in Africa is forced to kill, a street sweeper in Bangladesh has no hope, a teen age girl in Romania is suffering from deep shame after aborting her child. There are problems across the street too. Your neighbor lost their job or their marriage is on the rocks. God knows everyone's story, and He cares so much!</p>
<p>He's there, right beside every person in the world. Now's the time for us to get up and follow in God's footsteps. It's really that simple. Find out where God is, and run to meet him there! We know that God's heart aches for the poor and the needy. They are His children too. As we reach out to people that are hurting, our problems begin to shrink, and we draw closer to God's heart in the process!</p>
<p>This is what the song "Follow You" is all about. If the church doesn't respond to the world's brokeness, it would be the greatest tragedy in all of history. We have what it takes! We have the very love of God in our hearts. We have faith to see the impossible come to pass, and we have a God that's waiting to back us up in this mission.</p>
<p>Ask God to open your eyes today. Ask Him to reveal His footsteps, so you can follow them. They will lead you to some amazing places.</p>]]></description>

					<title><![CDATA[Follow You Tour Entry #1]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>In February we sat down for lunch with Brandon Heath and started dreaming about touring together one day. We said, what if we put together a tour that's less about the artist, and more about the God we worship. We wanted to break down the whole hierarchy of "opening bands" and "headliners". And most of all we wanted the world to be impacted by these nights of worship. We wanted to inspire action that's birthed from an experience with God.</p>
<p>A couple months later we found ourselves in Japan, Cambodia, and Bangladesh (Brandon joing us for the first two) and God truly spoke to us while we were abroad. For me it was an unexpected lesson. I learned that poverty is complex, but the God we serve is truly omniscient&nbsp;and all-powerful. He knows the solution even when we don't. He is more than capable of healing broken lives, cities, &amp; nations. Here's the amazing thing though... He's wanting US to play a vital role in this process.</p>
<p>I'm God's child, but so is the poor kid in Cambodia, as well as their mom &amp; dad, and so is the investment banker in Manhattan. God's love is for EVERYONE, and as followers of Christ we CAN show this love in very tangible ways. Just try it.</p>
<p>This tour is about following God into the hard places, whether it be Cambodia or Cleveland... London or Little Rock. People are hurting, and they need the healer. His name is Jesus.&nbsp;</p>
<p>We're four shows into this tour and God has already done great things. We're expecting more, and we would like to ask two things of you:</p>
<p>1) Would you pray for us? That we would keep our hearts aflame for God. That we would speak with boldness on behalf of the forgotten. For safety as we bus across America, and for our families while we're away.</p>
<p>2) Would you commit to falling more and more in love with Jesus? If we're not doing this first, everything else is for naught. Let simple intimacy with God overflow into your actions so that justice, love &amp; righteousness can be known in the world.&nbsp;</p>

					<title><![CDATA[a band journal - pt1 "be encouraged"]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<img src="/system/application/assets/dropbox/content/IMG_1007-pola.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="400" /></p>
<p>As a member of Christian band, you end up talking about things that are pretty lofty and sacred sometimes. For example, you'll hear us shouting from the rooftops about our great God, and asking our generation to step out and serve Him by loving the world. When we're talking about this all of the time it makes us aware of how easily we ourselves miss the mark every day. The first part of today I had a hard time sharing love &amp; kindness and it's easy to let the cares of life nag at you. But we MUST not let this happen. As we boarded our last flight today I felt God tugging on my heart. So I immediately dropped every distraction and began to seek God with all my heart. There was such peace and rest in this time with God and it broke down the walls in my heart. Colosians 4:2-6 jumped out at me and nourished my heart and it felt like every word MEANT something to me in that moment. God totally knows what we need, and WHEN we need it.</p>
<p>We are God's children&nbsp;and we CAN walk this out. We can be who God has called us to be! If we'll just keep our eyes fixed and set on Jesus... we'll win this war, and celebrate the victory that Jesus bought with His very life. He's alive. And so are we! Let's change this world and bring heaven to earth through the power &amp; authority of our saviour Jesus Christ.</p>
<p>Don't you feel something peculiar in the air? Something's going on and I want to be a part of it.</p>

It's pretty raw, but basically I just want to spend some time in worship with the bloggers. God's big enough to fill all of cyberspace with His glory. 					<title><![CDATA[A Challenge]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys and gals,<br /><br />Hope you're having a great day. Yesterday we played at a Dare2Share conference in Columbus, OH. I was so encouraged yesterday about witnessing. I think when you grow up in the church like I have, you can get so used to hearing about certain things that you loose the real passion you should have. I felt the love and conviction of God fill me up yesterday. Why don't we tell the world about Jesus? What's stopping us? There are people all around us that will go to hell if we don't share with them this amazing news... this beautiful gospel. And it's not just an eternal hell people face, what about all the heartache and pain that can be avoided by living for Jesus.<br /><br />What is "witnessing" any ways? Is it going door to door? Or walking around on the street and directly confronting people about their spirituality? It can be both of those things, but it's also something more. A witness is someone who's literally seen, heard, and experienced something. What have you seen, heard, and experienced in your relationship with God? That's your testimony. That's a big part of what you need to be telling people. Just be transparent and tell them about all the things God's done in your life. And if you think He hasn't done much, just look around because it's everywhere. <br /><br />When you pray today, ask God to set up divine appointments with people who need to hear that Jesus loves them. You'll be surprised by God's response, believe me. Finally, walk in love. The whole Gospel is based on love, so we can't go around contradicting it with a mean, judgmental manor. People don't need to be reminded about how bad they are... they need to be loved just as they are and they'll become the people God's called them to be.<br /><br />I'd love to get some comments on this post in a few days from people who put this into action. 					<description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone its Leeland here!! Im on the bus headed to Houston to pick up the rest of the guys for some shows this week in Texas!! I hope this finds you well! I pray that all of you are happy and encouraged about the future that God has for you!! Today in the studio while song writing we began to just worship God together and rest in HIs presence. I haven't felt the Love of Jesus that strong in a long time. It was so strong that I started to weep and cry. I just heard the spirit of God say that we need to find time to rest in Him. Some times I think we can get so busy and our days can get so full that there is no room for the refreshment that we receive from the presence of God. After Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights the bible says that angels came and ministered to Him (Matthew 4:11) . We don't have to prove ourselves to Him, and we don't have to make ourselves appear strong enough. It's actually in our weakness that were made strong through Him. Were already qualified to be His son or daughter through Jesus and what He did on the cross. So make sure and find time in your day to sit back and with arms wide open receive His love. Last night was a fantastic night of worship in Painted Post, NY. Eight-hundred and fifty people were packed into this church worshiping God will all their heart. During 'May Our Praise' and 'Tears of the Saints' I couldn't help but cry when I really realized what I was singing. The Holy Spirit made the words new to me, and reminded me yet again why we're doing this. First to lift Him up, and then to give our lives away and change the world. To know Him and make Him known. It was a great night. God is so faithful to show up and meet us right where we are.<br /><br />Oh... and we're listening to Christmas music and driving through a winter wonderland (literally)... there's snow everywhere! No matter who you voted for, you need to be praying for our new President. Pray as he meets with President Bush today that God would give them both wisdom in this delicate time our nation is in right now. 					<title><![CDATA[Dreams]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[We made it home yesterday morning and went straight to our church, Celebration of Life, in Baytown. This week we're hosting the annual Prayer &amp; Prophetic Conference. Dale Gentry is here with us. He's a really huge mentor of ours and has an incredible prophetic ministry. He's prophesied over me, Leeland, and Jake many times as well as the whole band. <div><br /></div><div>The past couple days have been so refreshing; worshiping alongside our family and seeking God together. God has been igniting dreams in my heart again, and I feel so close to the Lord right now. We all need these moments to keep us focused and our hearts on fire after God.</div><div><br /></div><div>I pray right now for whoever is reading this. That you would realize that you can go where God says you can go. You can do what God says you can do. Write what God says you can write. Build what God says you can build. Record what God says you can record. Go to the nations that God says you can go to! Nothing is impossible with God!</div><div><br /></div><div>I'd like to give you a little challenge. Get alone with God and spend some time in His presence sometime today. Then just begin to dream. Dream huge. And know that whatever you're seeing... God see's something even bigger. God has an absurd amount of confidence in you. He designed you to change the world. </div><div><br /></div><div>Here's one of my dreams... to start community centers all across the globe. It would be a huge facility that serves the community... everything from medical services, an orphanage, food distribution, and ministry &amp; job training. I know that God's going to help me build those all over the world! </div><div><br /></div><div>What's one of your dreams? Share them with us. We would love to pray for you. And I hope you know that God is committed to your success. It might take a little time but those dreams WILL come to pass.
